ERFPD personnel maintain a high diversity of skill and ability because the geography and use of the Eagle River Valley presents a high diversity of risk and variety of emergencies.

In addition to structural and wildland response, firefighters respond to transportation accidents, hazardous materials releases and spills and rescues that require a high degree of technical expertise.
